Records and photos for this work on file show that it included, but was not limited to, the complete disassembly and refinishing of the hull, with 16 layers of two-part transparent varnish, disassembly and rebuilding of the engines, propeller shafts, rudder, propellers, replacement of the interior upholstery and floor panels and re-chroming of all bright trim. A special report on arguably the greatest classic Riva ever built, the 1960 Riva Tritone Special Cadillac. This Aquarama Special has won several awards for appearance in boat shows, (trophies are included in the sale) and that was prior to the extensive restoration performed on it by the respected firm of Giacomo Lazzari at Lago Iseo in Credaro, Northern Italy in 2011.

There are full instructions included with the kit in plain English. This kit includes all necessary fixtures and fittings needed to complete the model. Using laser cut technology, Italian producer Amati have managed to produce this beautiful scale replica kit for people to build from scratch. We are excited to now be offering the chance for our customers to build a replica of the legendary vessel themselves. Premier Ship Models have been offering finely detailed ready-made models of the Aquarama for some time now. There is no doubt that the Aquarama has earned its place in history and it is hard to find any nautical enthusiast who hasn’t heard of her. The windscreen was curved and wrapped its way around the front of the boat, giving passengers a full view of what was around them. Many have speculated that it is in fact the windscreen, which was inspired by the developing Cinerama period in the 1960’s.
Not even Carlo Riva himself knew where hull number 278 was located. The Lamborghini Riva got lost from view and for years the runabout was stashed away in the corner of a boatyard, hidden from the world. After that, Carlo Riva became part of the Monte Carlo Offshorer, the first production runabout, with an improved stability. Now the firm is owned by the Ferretti Group, Carlo Riva sold in the seventies. From start to finish, each single-engine Riva runabout moves along the line. The new owner passed away in 1993 and the heirs didn’t have too much interest in this amazing piece of history. Riva became a worldwide success and the brand was sought by stars like Brigitte Bardot, Sophia Loren or Peter Sellers. It is perhaps the sleek varnished mahogany finish that the 8 metre long hull showcases as the boat cruises along at speeds of up to 50 knots, using its 400 hp engine. Prince Rainier of Monaco has a Riva boat, and so does Gamal Abdel Nasser. The boats are available in open, sportfly and flybridge styles from 8 to 50 metres in length. It’s not clear what it is about the Aquarama that has captured the heart of so many avid sailors. In a variety of different lengths and models with a shared spirit of performance, safety and exclusive style, the Riva range expresses the soul of this legendary brand to sublime effect. Some have called it a legend of the nautical world and labelled it as the Ferrari equivalent in boating terms. During the 1960’s, Italian manufacturer Riva made waves in the industry after the release of the Aquarama.
